Solar Battery Promotion

Complete Terms & Conditions

“Free Solar Backup Battery” Rebate-Contingent Offer
Effective Date: January 19, 2026
Offered by: Shoreline Building Performance Ltd. (“Shoreline,” “Shoreline BP”)

1. Promotional Nature of Offer (Non-Binding)

The “Free Battery” promotion is a conditional marketing incentive and does not constitute a free product, guaranteed discount, or unconditional price reduction.

This promotion is entirely contingent upon the Customer qualifying for, being approved for, and receiving an eligible third-party rebate.

2. Battery System Description & Retail Value Disclosure

The battery energy backup storage system included in this promotion has a standard retail value of up to $6,600, inclusive of battery equipment and standard installation labour.

This stated value is provided for transparency only and does not represent:
  • A guaranteed discount
  • A guaranteed rebate amount
  • A guaranteed price reduction independent of rebate approval
The retail value does not create any entitlement in the absence of an approved rebate.

3. Rebate Program Dependency

This promotion is dependent on the availability and approval of a battery rebate program currently advertised as up to $5,000, subject to all applicable program rules.

The Customer acknowledges that:
  • Rebate programs are administered by independent third parties (e.g., BC Hydro, CleanBC, or their program administrators).
  • Shoreline does not control rebate eligibility, approval, processing, funding availability, or payment timelines.
  • Rebate approval is not guaranteed, even if the system is installed.
  • Program terms may change, pause, or terminate without notice.

4. Maximum Rebate Limitation (50% Cap)

The Customer acknowledges and agrees that the battery rebate is subject to a maximum reimbursement of 50% of eligible battery system costs, as defined by the rebate program.

As a result:
  • The rebate may be less than $5,000
  • The rebate may not cover the full retail value of the battery system
  • Any shortfall between the rebate amount and the battery system cost remains the Customer’s responsibility

5. Customer Financial Responsibility

If the rebate is:
  • Denied
  • Reduced
  • Partially approved
  • Delayed
  • Not paid for any reason
the Customer agrees to pay the full contract price of the battery system, less any rebate amount actually received.

This includes, without limitation, rebate denial or reduction resulting from:
  • Incomplete or inaccurate information provided by the Customer
  • Failure to meet program eligibility requirements
  • Changes to property ownership, electrical configuration, or utility account status
  • Program funding exhaustion or rule changes

6. Definition of “Free Battery”

For clarity and avoidance of doubt:

“Free Battery” refers to a conditional promotional incentive in which a battery system with a retail value of up to $6,600 may be partially or fully offset by an approved rebate of up to $5,000, subject to eligibility, program caps, and approval.

“Free” does not mean:
  • Zero cost absent rebate approval
  • Guaranteed rebate amount
  • Guaranteed approval
  • Guaranteed elimination of customer payment obligations

7. Pricing Disclosure & Contract Structure

The full retail price of the battery system (equipment, labour, permits, commissioning, and applicable taxes) will be clearly disclosed in the Customer’s contract documentation.

Rebates will be shown as a conditional line-item credit, not a price reduction.

8. Rebate Administration Authorization

The Customer authorizes Shoreline to:
  • Submit documentation required by BCHydro on the customer’s behalf
  • Share required project and utility information with rebate administrators
  • Receive rebate funds directly where permitted and apply them as a credit
If rebate funds are paid directly to the Customer, the Customer agrees to remit such funds to Shoreline within five (5) business days of receipt.

9. No Guarantee of Rebate Timing

Rebate processing occurs after installation and verification and may take several weeks or months.

The Customer agrees that:
  • Shoreline bears no responsibility for rebate processing timelines
  • Payment obligations under the contract remain due regardless of rebate timing

10. No Entitlement to Retail Value

If a rebate is not received in full or in part, the Customer is not entitled to:
  • A free battery system
  • A discount equal to the stated retail value
  • Compensation for the difference between rebate and retail value

11. Marketing & Verbal Representations

Any references to:
  • “Free battery”
  • “$6,600 value”
  • “Rebate-covered battery”
are subject to and governed by these Terms & Conditions, which supersede all advertisements, marketing materials, and verbal representations.

12. Non-Transferability & No Cash Value

This promotion:
  • Has no cash value
  • Is non-transferable
  • Cannot be retroactively applied to previously installed systems
  • Cannot be combined with other promotions unless expressly stated in writing

13. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of British Columbia.

14. Acknowledgement

By signing the contract or proceeding with installation, the Customer confirms they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions in full.
